The Rally is open to all members of DMBC and their guests. It is also open to members of invited Clubs.

Dear Members,
Time marches on and the 2010 Rally is approaching fast, so here is an update to all on where we are at present and what is needed in the near future.
The Marquee, Bar, Friday Night Disco and possibly the Saturday Group, possibly "groups", are ordered along with the luxury portaloo's for us gentlemen.
We have the R.N.L.I. booked and I am thinking of the boat check team attending if enough of you are interested, so please contact me as soon as possible. We have clearance from B.W. and Tarmac for the use of the river behind Sawley Lock for Boat Handling Competitions if we want to do so. Battle Of Britain Flight will fly past on the Saturday with a Dakota and on the Sunday a Spitfire subject to CAA approval. Elite Fire Extinguishers will be on site to service and repair extinguishers for a fee; worthwhile as out of date extinguishers could render your insurance invalid in the case of a fire onboard.
Jackie Smith is visiting boats distributing ideas leaflets for you to put ideas on and forward to either herself or me, we have ideas in place at the moment for which Joanne E. and Debbie T are volunteering to oversee, many thanks, and I am awaiting a reply from Nottingham Model Boat Club to attend and last but not least Mike Simpson will be providing the photo quiz, so if you see someone snooping around with a camera move quick or you could be included.
As can be seen a fair bit is going on but I would like to now appeal again for your help and ideas no matter how large or small to get the Rally up and running, also any first-aiders who would be prepared to offer their services for the Rally or part of would be gratefully accepted.

As some of you may be aware September 2010 will see the biannual rally of DMBC, and as the incumbent Vice Commodore the duty of arranging it befalls me.
At present I have some of the basic pieces in place but as the rally gets nearer I will need the help and sometimes guidance of members who would be prepared to help by being involved in the planning and organization of the event.
I would like to firstly create a small organizing committee, followed by sub committees as and where needed so as to make the organizing as smooth as possible.
If you think you would be able to give some time to help with this project would you please contact me Dave Smith either at the club (I'm mooring 97) or by email. Please give some thought as the Rally is one of our biggest events in our social calendar.
